I recently left Macleans.ca as General Manager to work on the National Post sites in a similar capacity. The team at Macleans.ca was absolutely amazing and the core design for the site should be attributed to Una Janicijevic. Producers Jonathan McKinnell and Andrea Ball also deserve credit for their hard maintaining the integrity of the original work.

Great site. But our favourite part is the Need to Know arrow pointing down to the hot topics - great way of highlighting the current big stories. Very editorial-ish. Bit of strange design going on in the middle of the page between the upper area and the lower sections. But it cleans up nice again in the bottom area. Clicking through, the story pages are well-designed too, with a right column full of goodies from around the site. Overall quite nice - makes for good for reading.

What we like: Strong logo and nav area. Nice graphic for the Top Stories area.
